Pediatric Cath Lab Technologist

Contract Duration

15-week contract opportunity.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Prior experience in pediatric cath lab is mandatory.
• First-time travelers will not be accepted.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Current Washington State Radiologic Technologist and/or Cardiac Invasive Specialist Certification (CISC)

Patient Types and Common Diagnoses

Experience with the following pediatric congenital diagnostic and interventional procedures required:

• Left Heart Catheterization (LHC) / Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
• PDA/VSD/ASD closures
• Septostomy
• Congenital structure stenting/ballooning
• Collateral closure

Additionally, experience with pediatric electrophysiology cases is necessary:

• Pacemaker implant and generator exchanges
• Loop recorder implant/removals
• Electrophysiology study with radiofrequency ablations for SVT, WPW, atrial tachycardia, PVC

Required Skills

• Proficient in circulator and patient monitoring, with sedation needs provided by anesthesia.
• Preferred monitoring experience includes PACS (Picom), HeModynamic (Merge), and C-arm (Siemens Artis).

Electronic Medical Records

Experience with EPIC Cupid is preferred.

Floating and Weekend Rotation

• No floating required.
• Weekend coverage on call only, typically 1-2 weekends per month (anticipated every 3rd week).

Call Requirements

Seven call shifts (including weekends) in a three-week rotation:

• Weekday call: End of Shift (EOS) to 07:00 the following day.
• Weekend call: EOS Friday to 07:00 Monday.
• 45-minute response time; no sleep room available.

Holiday Expectations

On-call coverage is required, included in the department call rotation.

Shift Details

Shifts are 10 hours, from 07:00 to 17:30.

Scrub Color

Scrubs are provided by the facility, including lead. Extended sizing available for scrubs, but not for lead.

The facility is a Level II pediatric trauma center with 82 total beds and one Cath/EP Lab.
