Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with 2+ years of Peds ICU experience for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring SC or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital setting
• Floats within scope to all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours/week
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Requires working every other weekend and rotating holidays
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval based on unit needs

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
• BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only accepted)
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations, IV vasopressors, and continuous sedation
• Skilled in care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and airway maintenance
• Proficient in interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
• Experience with central line and PICC line care, ICP monitoring, and chest tube management
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple pediatric units based on facility need
• During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be reassigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers are accepted if they meet the required Peds ICU experience
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as post-submission RTO requests are not accepted
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted, though non-local candidates are prioritized
