Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with 2+ years PICU experience and current PALS, ACLS, NRP, and BLS certifications for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Details

• Float pool position covering PICU, NICU, peds med-surg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hours per week, block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required within scope of practice across pediatric units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license (may submit with VA license pending)
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required
• Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required, may submit with certification pending
• 2 years of PICU experience required
• Comfortable working with NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric ED patient populations
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience preferred for candidates without direct travel experience
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple pediatric specialty units including PICU, NICU, PACU, and ED boarding areas
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules during onboarding
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance
• No RTO can be approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to submission
• Previous UVA Health permanent staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
• First-time travelers may be considered if they have prior NICU/PICU float pool experience
