Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with PICU and NICU experience for a role requiring PALS, NRP, and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Float pool position covering PICU, NICU, peds med-surg, peds PACU, peds ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00)
• 36 or 48 hours per week; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• 1:2 patient ratio experience
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (may submit with certification pending)
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience required
• Must be comfortable with NICU, acute pediatrics, and pediatric ED patient populations
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Previous travel experience required, though PICU/NICU float pool experience may be considered in lieu

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple pediatric units as part of a float pool team
• Must adhere to facility float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
• Maximum 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract; no additional RTO approved after offer acceptance and none during first two weeks of assignment
• Any planned time off between sign date and start date must be disclosed prior to submission
• Previous employment with this health system as permanent staff or traveler requires a 1-year separation and leadership approval
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching this limit
• No radius restriction for this position
