Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring strong PICU experience and the ability to float between PICU, CVICU, and NICU.
Details
- Magnet-designated, teaching hospital and Level I Trauma center with 320 staffed beds
- Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool covering PICU, CVICU, and NICU
- Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, with ratios up to 1:3 when floating to NICU
- Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) or Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) available
- Every other weekend required, with openness to blocked weekend scheduling
- Floating required between NICU, PICU, and CVICU based on facility needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (DC required, MD/VA accept compact or state license)
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Some NICU/CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations
- Strong pediatric critical care skills including ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and central/arterial line care
- Pending license applicants accepted, though active license required prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across PICU, CVICU, and NICU settings as needed
- Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly and logo-free
- Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required, with one holiday guaranteed based on preference
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
- Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year to be eligible
- Maximum RTO of 7 days; a full week off requires an extension of the assignment to make up missed shifts
- No RTO requests accepted after the initial offer
