Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN for a Magnet-recognized children's hospital, requiring critical care experience and PALS/NRP certification.

Details

• Float pool position covering PICU, NICU, and additional pediatric units within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals
• Care for pediatric patients across acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care needs
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1-2:4
• Floating required across pediatric units per assignment needs
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities specified

Requirements

• Active RN license, OR compact license accepted
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric critical care experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in ventilator management, tracheostomy care, hemodynamic monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with insulin administration and pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with urinary catheter insertion and management
• Isolation precautions and infection control/PPE knowledge required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• ICP monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills preferred
• Two manager or supervisor references required from within the last 24 months (charge RN references not accepted)
• Comprehensive work history covering the last seven years required
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing coverage across PICU, NICU, and other pediatric units as a float pool RN
• Work within a Magnet-recognized pediatric hospital known for comprehensive pediatric specialty care
• Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
• Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• Former employees or travelers must have a gap of at least 6 months before returning to assignment
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and not exceed two weeks
