Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN for a Magnet-recognized children's hospital, requiring critical care and CV experience along with PALS, NRP, and BLS certifications.
Details
- Float pool position covering multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, PACS, PACM, PIMC, and Hem/Onc
- Cares for pediatric patients with acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care needs
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Patient ratio of 1-2:4
- Floating required across units and to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active RN license required (Oregon license accepted at submission)
- Active OR license required
- BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required (AHA Traditional accepted, RQI not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Critical care and CV (cardiovascular) experience required
- Care of ventilated patients including tracheostomy care and ventilator management required
- Hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- ICP monitoring experience preferred
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
- Comprehensive work history covering the last seven years required
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Provides pediatric critical care nursing across a variety of specialty units including surgical, medical, intermediate, oncology, and critical care populations
- Care includes IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, insulin administration, and urinary catheter management
- Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day)
- Refusal to float as assigned may result in contract cancellation
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage radius restriction
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must provide a reference from their prior OHSU manager
- Returning staff must have a 6-month gap since their last assignment to be eligible
- Requested time off must be submitted upfront and not exceed two weeks
