Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN for a Magnet-recognized children's hospital, requiring critical care and CV experience along with PALS, NRP, and BLS certifications.

Details

  • Float pool position covering multiple pediatric units including PICU, NICU, PACS, PACM, PIMC, and Hem/Onc
  • Cares for pediatric patients with acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care needs
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Patient ratio of 1-2:4
  • Floating required across units and to affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license required (Oregon license accepted at submission)
  • Active OR license required
  • BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required (AHA Traditional accepted, RQI not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Critical care and CV (cardiovascular) experience required
  • Care of ventilated patients including tracheostomy care and ventilator management required
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • ICP monitoring experience preferred
  • Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
  • Comprehensive work history covering the last seven years required
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Provides pediatric critical care nursing across a variety of specialty units including surgical, medical, intermediate, oncology, and critical care populations
  • Care includes IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, insulin administration, and urinary catheter management
  • Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day)
  • Refusal to float as assigned may result in contract cancellation
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mileage radius restriction
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must provide a reference from their prior OHSU manager
  • Returning staff must have a 6-month gap since their last assignment to be eligible
  • Requested time off must be submitted upfront and not exceed two weeks
