Job Summary: Pediatric Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in an urban healthcare setting. This role involves providing specialized care in a high-acuity pediatric emergency department, focusing on the treatment of conditions such as asthma, diabetic ketoacidosis, neonatal fever, and sickle cell disease. The RN will collaborate with ancillary staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts during daytime hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment runs from 10/05/2026 to 01/03/2027.
Required Qualifications: RN license with compact license accepted; at least 2 years of pediatric emergency room experience; certifications include Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Blue Card; TNCC and ACLS certifications are highly preferred; current triage experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications such as ENPC, EFM, and NIHSS are desirable.
Additional Information: The role involves managing moderate sedation procedures, airway care including ventilator management with high-frequency vents, care for various lines and drains such as PICC and central lines, and performing critical procedures including cardioversion and RSI. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4. Ancillary staff support includes technicians and LPNs/LVNs. The department manages common diagnoses such as asthma exacerbations, diabetic ketoacidosis, neonatal fever, and sickle cell crises.
