Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Pediatric ICU Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric acute care units.

Details

  • >Float Pool position within a hospital setting, floating to a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
  • Also floats to acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac pediatric units
  • May float to NICU but only for low-acuity feeder/grower patients, not traditional NICU care
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours per week
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required
  • Floating required across all children's units as assigned

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Current PALS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Experience with trach care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion management required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric patients across multiple acute care units
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and monitors changes in physician orders
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Returning travelers may extend a contract once for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
  • Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
