Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center requiring flexibility to float between the PICU and PCICU units.

Details

• 20-bed Pediatric ICU within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient population includes trauma, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, oncology, solid organ transplant, burn, and various medical specialties
• 8 beds dedicated to specialized pediatric cardiac patient care
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Required to work flexibly between the Pediatric ICU (PICU) and Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) as part of a shared staffing model
• Rotating shift schedule with variable shift assignments
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care to pediatric ICU patients consistent with professional standards
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process within an interdisciplinary team
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care including discharge planning
• Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update plans of care
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
• Report to and work under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
