Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift position requiring at least one year of ICU experience and Level I trauma exposure.

Details

• Located in the OCH Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for a variety of pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule with 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift
• Level I trauma experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from AHA
• Current PALS certification from AHA
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• ICU experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric patients
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments, noting changes in physician orders
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological data, observing and intervening as needed
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Educates patients and families on hospital procedures
• Refers patient care needs to appropriate personnel and delegates tasks to support staff
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no flexibility for start date changes
• Returning travelers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
