Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring level 1 experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU unit of a hospital setting
• CVICU and NICU experience preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a variety of pediatric patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Assess, monitor, and document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products as prescribed
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to allow for compliance clearance
• Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
