Job Summary: Pediatric Intermediate Care Nurse in LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for pediatric patients in a 26-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit. The position requires experience in pediatric critical care, familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records, and the ability to float to other units as needed.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights; scheduled hours are 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule is manager/scheduler driven, with every other weekend required. No on-call duties; holidays are required as needed.
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 2-5 years of clinical experience in pediatric critical care; recent EPIC EMR experience; recent EPIC experience; some PICU experience required for IMCU; travel experience preferred; ability to float to other units as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric ventilators, ECMO, CRRT, and post-arrest or trauma patients. Familiarity with hospitalist staffing after 11PM and working with multidisciplinary teams including residents, fellows, and attending MDs.
Additional Information: The unit cares for pediatric patients with diagnoses such as respiratory distress, DKA, post-op cardiac, trauma, neuro, surgical post-ops, urology, ENT, and burns if intubated and under 13 years old. The patient care team includes ancillary assistance from CNAs/PCTs and advanced practice providers. In the CVICU, transplants and long-term vent management are present. In-house ECMO systems are available; ventilators are managed by RNs and RTs.
