Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Oncology RN with chemotherapy certification and pediatric BMT experience for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Details

• Pediatric Oncology unit with Chemo Certification requirement
• Involves pediatric BMT and oncology patient population
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), and APHON
• Experience with chemotherapy administration, port access/management, and central line care required
• Skilled in recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as ATLS, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
• Experience with bone marrow transplant care including graft-versus-host disease management
• Knowledge of pain management techniques including PCA pump and IV push narcotics
• 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in pediatric oncology and BMT settings, including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
• Collaborate closely with the pediatric care team for coordinated treatment and family support
• Responsible for patient and family education regarding treatment and care plans
• Flu vaccine required between October 31 and March 31 with no exemptions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months
