Job Summary: Respiratory Therapist (RT) - Pediatric Specialty in Miami, FL. This position involves providing advanced respiratory care for pediatric patients in a tertiary care facility with a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role requires specialized skills in respiratory treatment and a collaborative approach to patient care.
Job Details:
Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) certification, current Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; 2 years of current acute care hospital Respiratory Therapist (RT) experience; located in or willing to work in Miami, Florida.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with Meditech documentation systems; advanced skills in pediatric respiratory procedures; previous NICU/ Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience.
Procedures performed on unit: Providing respiratory treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory diseases utilizing advanced technologies, medication delivery, and equipment such as High Flow Devices, 3100A, Bunnell, Servo s, continuous nebulizers, Nitric Oxide, Heliox, and regular nebulizers.
Best personality fit: Team player, critical thinker, patient care focused, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Dress Code: Light Gray (Silver).
Additional Information: The position may include coverage for adult floors for nebulizer therapy, BIPAP, CPT, etc., depending on unit needs. The unit is a Level 3 NICU within a tertiary care hospital specializing in adult and pediatric trauma, stroke care, and neonatal intensive care.
