Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Technician specializing in Pediatric (RT PEDS) is sought for a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the Savannah, GA area. This position involves managing ventilated neonatal patients, including high-frequency ventilation, surfactant administration, and inhaled nitric oxide therapy. The role requires collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift; 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid respiratory therapy certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, 1+ years of neonatal or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) critical care experience, and at least 1 year of relevant neonatal respiratory experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing patients on high-frequency ventilation, surfactant administration, and inhaled nitric oxide therapy; ability to independently admit and manage vented patients on invasive and non-invasive ventilation devices such as Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), High-Flow therapy, and high-frequency ventilation (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV) and High-Frequency Jet Ventilation (HFJV)).
• Additional Information: The candidate must be able to perform procedures including setup and management of ventilation devices, attend high-risk deliveries, and manage ventilated neonates with advanced respiratory therapies. The hospital utilizes Epic documentation system and requires adherence to unit policies and dress code (Hunter Green uniform). Candidates should demonstrate ability to function efficiently in a high-acuity NICU environment while effectively collaborating with the healthcare team.
