Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Stepdown RN with at least 2 years of experience and vent/trach/G-tube skills for a children's hospital assignment requiring an active IL RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Stepdown unit within a 39-bed inpatient children's hospital caring for all specialties on one unit
• Patient population ranges from 2 weeks to 18 years old, with 50-60% technology dependent (vents, trachs, G-tubes)
• Acute care unit focused on chronic illness management, not drips, surgical, or transitional patients
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30), both accepted
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Open to block scheduling accommodations
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration (compact licenses not accepted)
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios required
• Vent, tracheostomy, and G-tube care experience required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Flu vaccine required, with medical and religious exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Provide care for pediatric patients with tracheostomies and chronic ventilator dependence
• Scrubs may be any color as long as neat and clean, with peds-themed attire encouraged
• Free parking available in shared lots on the hospital grounds
• RTO must be approved and included in the contract prior to the start date, with no additions after the contract begins
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Pending license candidates accepted
• Previous staff members of the facility or its affiliated clinics are not eligible for consideration
