Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric Surgical RN with Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple acute care units in a children's hospital setting.

Details

• Pediatric Surgical unit within a Level 1 Trauma children's hospital
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 0645-1915, 3 days per week (36 hours)
• Must be able to float to all acute care units within children's including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step down, and cardiac peds units
• May float to NICU but only for low-acuity feeder/grower babies, not traditional NICU care
• Requires experience with tracheostomy care, high flow oxygen therapy, and infusion therapy

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with trach care, high flow, and infusion therapy required
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and procedures

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to a diverse pediatric patient population across multiple acute care specialties
• Administer medications, initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly with no push starts allowed
• Travelers may extend contracts once for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
