Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Surgical unit requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple children's acute care units.

Details

• Pediatric Surgical unit within a Level 1 Trauma children's hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 0645-1915, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Must be able to float to all acute care units within children's including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds units
• May be floated to NICU but only for feeder/grower low acuity patients, not traditional NICU care
• Requires experience with trach care, high flow oxygen therapy, and infusion therapy

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required from an accredited program; BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
• Administer medications, monitor IV infusions and blood products, and document patient responses to treatment
• Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Extensions limited to one time for a maximum of 26 weeks total, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no flexibility on start dates
