Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Peds/Neonatal Critical Care Transport RN for a night shift travel contract in Seattle, WA, requiring ground transport experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Hospital-based pediatric transport role serving the Seattle area via ground transportation
- Responsibilities involve transporting critically ill infants and pediatric patients from surrounding hospitals, ERs, and L&D/NICU facilities to a higher level of care
- Works alongside a transport team that includes Respiratory Therapists (RTs) and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- May float to work as a bedside nurse in the NICU, PICU, or general Pediatrics units as needed
- Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (1900–0700)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Patient population: neonatal and pediatric critical care
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or a valid Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
- Ground transport experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Required clinical skills include: ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, airway management, BiPAP/CPAP management, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, chest tube management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, arterial line management, IV vasopressors, continuous sedation, anti-seizure medications, pediatric dosage calculations, central line blood draw, phlebotomy, NG tube insertion/management, urinary catheter insertion/management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, hypothermia protocol, hyperthermia management, and isolation precautions/PPE
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- All required certifications must be current and on file
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- NICU and/or PICU experience preferred
- PICU transport experience preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Additional Information
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within Washington state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Former permanent employees of any Providence/Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Former permanent employees of non-Swedish Providence facilities who meet the 3-month separation requirement are eligible
- Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
- Pre-start compliance modules are required (averaging approximately 16 hours)
