Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatrics/Float Pool position requiring level I trauma experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Float Pool role covering medical, surgical, medical specialty, hem/onc, and step-down units, with possible floating to NICU for feeder growers
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekends and holidays required
• Requires three years of level I trauma experience

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from AHA
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to interventions and treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge information
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced, and candidates must begin onboarding immediately upon offer
