Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a Float Pool position requiring 3 years of Level 1 Trauma experience and a compact or OK RN license.

Details

• Float Pool position covering multiple pediatric units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
• Also floats to acute care areas such as surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem-onc, cardiac peds, and step-down units
• May float to NICU but only for feeder-grower, low-acuity patients (not traditional NICU care)
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• BLS and PALS certification through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 3 years Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience with tracheostomy care, high-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion management required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric patients across multiple specialty units
• Administers medications, monitors IV infusions and blood products, and documents patient responses to treatment
• Collaborates with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatment plans
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Extensions limited to one time for a maximum of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding requirements must be completed promptly to avoid start date delays
