Pediatric RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
• At least 1 year of professional pediatric nursing experience
• Pediatric RN experience in an acute-care or hospital setting
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Demonstrated experience initiating and managing peripheral IVs
• Strong communication, patient assessment, and family-support skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, age-appropriate pediatric patient care

Pediatric Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of general medical needs
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, administer medications, and monitor patient progress
• Initiate peripheral IVs and provide related nursing care according to clinical standards
• Educate and support children and their families throughout the patient care experience
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate individualized plans of care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Float to the NICU when needed to support the care of feeder-grower infants
