Key Responsibilities of the Travel Pharmacist

Verify Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) orders for accuracy and appropriateness
Interpret and transcribe medication orders accurately
Prepare and dispense medications safely, including sterile and parenteral nutrition preparations
Develop and execute drug therapy management protocols
Issue and monitor controlled substances
Extract and interpret patient chart information
Report adverse drug reactions and medication errors accurately
Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify daily activities

Requirements of the Travel Pharmacist

PharmD or Bachelor's degree with recent acute care hospital experience
Current pharmacist licensure in Florida
Experience in pharmacy operations, including calculations and PK dosing
Ability to solve issues with pharmacy equipment such as Pyxis
