Job Title: Pharmacist Inpatient Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacist Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in outpatient infusion License: State Pharmacist License required Certifications: Chemo/Hazardous Drug Certification Must-Have: - Experience with outpatient infusion - Oversight of the medication use process within an outpatient infusion center - Order verification of non-hazardous and hazardous outpatient infusion medications, including oncology - IV Infusion compounding product evaluation and verification - Evaluation of oncology and non-oncology treatment plans - Evaluation and verification of insurance coverage prior to treatment plan initiation - Infusion medication patient education - Infusion adverse reaction participation and management Description: This position involves participation in outpatient infusion services. You will ensure the safe and effective use of outpatient infusion medications. You will verify orders for both hazardous and non-hazardous medications. Your role includes evaluating treatment plans in both oncology and non-oncology cases. You will also assess insurance coverage before initiating treatment plans. Patient education regarding infusion medications will be a key responsibility. Participation in managing adverse reactions related to infusion medications is required. The position operates on a block scheduling system with specific patient ratios. You will not be required to float between units or take on-call duties. Experience with the charting system is preferred. Preferred experience includes ambulatory care and compounding. Travelers must have their own transportation for this role.
