Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist
  • Accept and dispense prescription medications
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
  • Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law
  • Verify the suitability of medicines prescribed to patients
  • Maintain confidential records of all patients
  • Advise patients about medicines usage and potential reactions
  • Consult on prescription and non-prescription medications
  • Provide patient services such as smoking cessation and blood pressure measurement
  • Educate patients on handling medical devices
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists

Requirements of the Pharmacist
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
  • Licensed by the state pharmacy board
