Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
- Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law.
- Ensure that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable.
- Maintain confidential records of all patients and manage pharmacy files.
- Advise patients about medicines, including reactions and answering questions.
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Provide services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the handling of medical devices.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions.
- Supervise pharmacy staff members.
- Maintain inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Identify patients' drug-related problems and communicate with healthcare practitioners.
- Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff.
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
