Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure supply of medicines is within legal requirements
- Maintain accurate confidential patient records
- Advise patients on medicine usage and potential reactions
- Consult on prescription and non-prescription medication details
- Provide patient services like smoking cessation and blood pressure management
- Educate on medical device usage
- Compound medications for external or internal use
- Prepare sterile solutions
- Supervise pharmacy staff
- Maintain pharmaceutical inventory
- Identify drug-related problems and coordinate with healthcare practitioners
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
