Travel Pharmacist - $3,663 per week in Brooklyn, NY

Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: IMC Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 11pm - 7am Experience: Minimum one (1) year hospital pharmacy experience License: Client Pharmacy license and current registration Certifications: None required Must-Have: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy Description: Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and/or the Pharmacy Supervisor, compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written prescriptions from physicians. Compounds and dispenses medications and supplies to patients and other professionals according to pharmacy policies and state laws. Interprets and evaluates physician's orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication and dosage forms. Communicates with prescribers and nursing personnel to clarify or change orders that are unclear, illegible, incomplete, or questionable. Recommends changes in drug therapy when needed and documents intervention activities. Insures resolution of identified problems. Accurately prepares labels and dispenses medications to various areas in accordance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations. Enters medication orders into the computer accurately. Reviews, maintains, and screens medication profiles for allergies, food/drug interactions, drug/drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications. Provides information on the contents, therapeutic actions, interactions, and potential adverse reactions of medications to healthcare professionals and patients. Compounds and labels I.V. admixtures, chemotherapies, and parenteral nutrition solutions according to established procedures. Supervises and checks the work of Technicians and Aides in both sterile and non-sterile medication work areas. Dispenses controlled substances following all applicable regulations. Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel. Participates in educational programs as required by law. Performs and documents monthly medication area inspections. Works in all service areas of the department. Demonstrates knowledge and competence regarding patient age as a factor in dose calculation for various patient groups. Performs additional duties as necessary to maintain optimal patient care services. Attends and participates in committee meetings and functions required by the organization. Performs other duties as needed to ensure quality assurance and performance improvement.
