Must-Have: Graduate of school of pharmacy required. Description: This position composes, prepares, mixes, manufactures, and dispenses medicines using advanced technical and organizational skills. Critical thinking abilities are essential for daily tasks. Oversight of the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs within the pharmacy is required. Maintaining departmental standards and translating policies and procedures into daily operations is essential. Supervision and training of assigned technical personnel are responsibilities of this role. The individual assumes responsibility for technical support activities within the pharmacy department. Functions involve processing, entering, verifying, and sending medication orders in a timely manner in compliance with departmental and regulatory guidelines. Ensuring medication therapy is efficacious, safe, convenient, and cost-effective is a critical function. Establishing optimal therapeutic outcomes is expected. The role involves assuring optimal medication prescribing with respect to indications, doses, routes, frequencies, and allergy history, while avoiding drug interactions. Daily reports on medication utilization must be conducted and analyzed to identify areas for medication improvement. Quality assurance procedures in related work areas must be performed. Participation in pharmacy-related tasks and programs such as clinical rounds and short-staffed areas is expected. Expediting necessary changes to comply with regulatory, accrediting, and government agency standards is required. Cost savings participation within the department is essential. Compliance with drug formulary and appropriate documentation is mandatory. Collaboration with leadership and buyers to purchase and procure medications and related supplies based on safety standards is needed. Assistance in recommendations for process improvement or development of new pharmacy services is required. Individuals experiencing communicable diseases or conditions impacting hygiene must be excluded from specific compounding areas until resolved. Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary.
