Inpatient/Outpatient Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities- Oversee the procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of drugs; ensure all pharmacy services remain in compliance with State and Federal regulations
- Review all inpatient medication orders for appropriateness and correctness to ensure safe and effective medication use; identify and verify patients' home medications prior to use
- Maintain and manage pharmacy inventory including Omnicell, specialty boxes, crash carts, and emergency kits across the facility
- Maintain records of procurement, dispensing, and destruction of pharmaceuticals including controlled substances in accordance with California pharmacy law
- Provide drug information to healthcare professionals within the facility via written materials, references, or telephone consultation
- Serve as on-call pharmacist after hours during assigned shift days and provide weekend coverage for emergency medication dispensing
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license valid in the state of California
- Inpatient pharmacy experience within the last 3 years (required)
- Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing pharmaceutical services
- Experience maintaining controlled substance records and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Ability to serve as Pharmacist in Charge and manage pharmacy operations independently
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with Omnicell or similar automated dispensing systems
- Familiarity with drug formulary programs and cost-savings purchasing procedures
- Experience in a critical access or rural hospital setting
