Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Pennsylvania license required Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician or Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician Must-Have: IV training and sterile compounding experience Epic experience required Pyxis experience required Description: The pharmacy technician will receive and stock deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies. They will prepare, package, and label medications prior to dispensing. Medications will be delivered to care areas within the facility and off-site locations. The technician will manage pharmacy inventory, including the use of electronic inventory management systems. They will monitor product expirations and remove outdated stock from inventory. The technician will respond to product recalls. They will compound non-sterile and sterile medication preparations. Cleans and disinfects procedures will be performed. The technician will handle clerical duties such as answering telephones and maintaining adequate supplies. Identifying an area of specialized skill or expertise is expected. Training and mentoring new pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns will be part of their responsibilities. The pharmacy technician will maintain sufficient additional criteria as outlined in the Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder criteria grids. COVID patient care may be required. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free.
