Pharmacy Technician

Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday)

• Receives, stocks, and manages deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies, including monitoring product expirations and responding to product recalls.
• Prepares, packages, labels, and dispenses medications; delivers medications to care areas within the facility and off-site locations.
• Compounds both non-sterile and sterile medication preparations, adhering to proper cleaning and disinfection procedures.
• Manages pharmacy inventory using electronic inventory management systems, including automated dispensing systems.
• Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones and maintaining adequate supplies.
• Trains and mentors new pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns, and identifies at least one area of specialized skill or expertise.

• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license — PA license required; no other state license accepted.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
• IV training and sterile compounding experience required.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system required.
• Experience with Pyxis automated dispensing system required.

• Experience working in a hospital or acute care pharmacy setting.
• Familiarity with electronic inventory management systems and pharmacy career ladder advancement criteria.
