Travel Phlebotomist (Evening Shift)

Fort Bragg, California

  • Assignment: August 3, 2026 – November 1, 2026

  • Shift: Variable, primarily Evening Shift

  • Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts, primarily Monday–Friday

  • Typical Hours: 2:00 PM – 11:30 PM

  • Unit: Clinical Laboratory

We're looking for a seasoned travel professional who can confidently work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by providing accurate, timely specimen collection throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections for inpatient, ED, and outpatient populations

  • Primarily support Emergency Department and inpatient specimen collection during evening hours

  • Assist outpatient services until approximately 5:30 PM

  • Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing

  • Verify patient identification and specimen integrity

  • Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, and laboratory personnel

  • Follow quality assurance, infection prevention, and regulatory standards

  • Assist with laboratory inventory, quality control, and departmental support as needed

Required

  • California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I) or equivalent approved certification

  • Current BLS Certification

  • 3–5+ years of recent phlebotomy experience (more experience strongly preferred)

  • Strong Emergency Department and inpatient collection experience

  • Experience with difficult draws

  • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Preferred

  • CPT II Certification (welcomed for arterial blood gas collections)

  • Critical Access Hospital experience

  • Travel assignment experience

Charting Experience

  • EPIC experience is required

  • Previous Cerner experience is beneficial
