Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction.
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Design functional treatment programs that support effective return to community activities and progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals.
• Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations.
• Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Virginia.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist.
• Proficiency in outpatient physical therapy evaluation and treatment.
• Ability to complete thorough and compliant medical record documentation in accordance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
• Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students in a clinical setting.
• Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and organizational quality initiatives.
• Active involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations.
