Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring 2+ years of experience and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

  • Acute Care Hospital setting within the PT Acute Care unit
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Hours may flex with a later Friday start time to assist with PACU discharge coverage
  • Weekend coverage required one day per month, with a comparable day off provided during the week
  • No call responsibilities
  • No floating required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent PT experience within the last 7 years
  • MD PT state license required in hand (no pending licenses accepted); license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
  • Acute care setting experience required
  • Experience with assessments including AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive devices, body mechanics, pain assessment, and strength testing
  • Documentation experience including evaluations, plans of care, short/long term goals, discharge summaries, and reassessments
  • Experience with cardiopulmonary, geriatric, neurologic, and oncology patient populations preferred
  • Experience with orthopedic conditions such as hip fractures, total hip/knee replacements, and post-op spinal or shoulder surgery preferred
  • Experience with home exercise programs and patient/family education preferred

Additional Information

  • Main responsibilities include evaluating and treating inpatients in an acute care hospital setting
  • Utilizes equipment such as hospital/specialty beds, Hoyer lifts, rolling walkers, crutches, bed alarms, and call lights
  • Familiarity with billing types including Medicare A/B, Medicaid, and commercial insurance preferred
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
