Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring 1+ year of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital unit with a patient ratio of 1:7-9
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Tuesday-Saturday, with hours ranging from 10:00a-6:30p or 10:30a-7:00p on weekdays and 9:00a-5:30p on weekends
• Alternative 4x10 hour schedule Wednesday-Saturday may be considered
• At least one weekend shift required per week
• May float to other Health First hospitals as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Availability required during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, though not on the actual holidays
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• BLS certification required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Active Florida PT license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
• Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration
• Skills in patient assessment, orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary care, and use of assistive devices

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, gait training, and rehabilitation across orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary populations
• Documentation duties include evaluations, plans of care, reassessments, and discharge summaries
• Patient education on home exercise programs, safety, and injury prevention is expected
• Modules and required training are completed during orientation and annually
• Flu vaccine required between October 31 and March 31, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Scrubs of any color accepted, but must match in top and bottom with no logos or prints
• First-time travelers accepted if they have acute care experience
• Former employees or contracted staff must wait at least one year after separation before returning
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers, with no radius restriction
• Finalized RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and are not accepted after an offer is made
