Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

40 hours: M/W 8-6, T/Th 8-5, F 8-2

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment goals, plans, and programs established for patients. This position emphasizes patient safety and employee safety, delivering superior quality in all aspects of care.

Responsibilities

  • Implement therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, balance exercises, and functional skills training.
  • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics and assistive devices.
  • Demonstrate the use of various modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, and therapeutic pool.
  • Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Document patient progress and educate families about treatment plans and body mechanics.
  • Consult with other healthcare disciplines regarding therapy administered and treatment goals.
  • Maintain a clean treatment area and comply with safety protocols.
  • Exhibit a customer service attitude towards patients and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an Accredited School
  • CAPTE Certified
  • 1+ Year of Outpatient Clinical Experience
  • CPR Certification
  • Active State License where work will be performed
  • Outpatient Orthopedic Experience is highly desired
