Job Overview
We are seeking a Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week contract assignment. This role involves assisting the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans designed to improve patients' mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality rehabilitative care while working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out individualized treatment plans
Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist
Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Educate patients on prescribed exercises and rehabilitation techniques
Ensure patient safety during therapy sessions
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Promote patient recovery, mobility, and independence
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
Job Requirements
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license (State of Maine or eligible for licensure)
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
Previous experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or long-term care preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
Must provide valid state or federal-issued identification for facility access
