Job Summary:
Physical Therapist Inpatient (PT IP) position based in Richmond, VA. This role involves providing specialized inpatient rehabilitation therapy within a hospital setting, focusing on neuro re-education, therapeutic exercises, and functional activity training for adult patients. The position requires a minimum of two years of hospital experience, with an emphasis on stroke evaluation and treatment, to support patient recovery and functional independence.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The assignment begins on 10/19/2026 and ends on 01/18/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in physical therapy, with two years of hospital and inpatient rehab experience preferred. Candidates should have experience in stroke evaluation and treatment. No additional certifications are required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in stroke assessment and neuro re-education therapies is advantageous.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, self-care training, and functional electrical stimulation. The unit employs advanced equipment such as ceiling lifts, Sara lifts, Bioness, and Diego. Staff members are expected to follow unit-specific policies, including the use of AIDET communication techniques and immediate service recovery protocols. The team comprises 10 occupational and physical therapy teams, three speech therapists, and one technician. Flexibility to float to the acute hospital may be required if the rehab census is low.
