Description

American Traveler is looking for a Physical Therapist for an Inpatient Rehab unit, requiring 2+ years of acute care/inpatient rehab experience and a current NC PT license.

Details

• Inpatient Rehabilitation unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
• Patient population includes orthopedic, spinal, and neurologic conditions such as post-op joint replacements, spinal surgery, stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care/Inpatient Rehab experience required
• NC Board of PT License required (license required if applicable)
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• BLS certification required
• Skilled in patient assessment, body mechanics, orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation techniques
• Experience with home exercise programs and patient/family education

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing initial evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and documenting patient progress
• Facilitates patient mobility using safe patient handling techniques and equipment
• Provides patient and family education on treatment procedures and home care
• Supervises physical therapist assistants and techs, and may mentor students or new employees
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to coordinate care
• Does not accept local candidates within 50 miles of the facility
• Does not require prior travel experience
