Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Outpatient Clinic position, requiring NH state license and 1+ years of experience treating a diverse neuro and orthopedic patient population.

Details

  • Hospital-based outpatient rehab clinic located within a medical building, one of seven outpatient locations within the health system
  • Clinic offers PT, OT, and SLP services, treating patients from infants to geriatric populations
  • Focus on outpatient orthopedics including post-op care, gait/balance training, and sprain/strain management
  • On-site ortho and 1-day surgery center
  • Patient population includes adult neuro cases with occasional complex orthopedic patients
  • Schedule options include 4x10 or 5x8 shifts, with all therapists working two evenings until 7:00 PM
  • No call, float, or weekend requirements
  • Uses Epic for EMR documentation
  • Weekly staff meetings and monthly in-services included

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
  • Current NH state PT license required (license required if applicable)
  • BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross only)
  • Experience with orthopedic conditions including ankle sprains, DDD, DJD, frozen shoulder, hip fractures, knee injuries, low back pain, osteoarthritis, post-op spinal/shoulder/cervical surgery, and sciatica
  • Proficiency in gait training, extremity mobilization, spinal mobilization, and taping techniques
  • Skilled in use of assistive devices including crutches, gait belt, rolling walker, standard walker, and shoulder slings
  • Experience with modalities such as cervical/lumbar traction, cryotherapy, e-stim, moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound
  • Strong documentation skills including evaluation, plan of care, short/long term goals, and reassessments
  • Proficient in patient assessment including AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, skin integrity, strength testing, and vital signs
  • Experience with home exercise program development and patient/family education
  • Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

  • Open to first-time travelers with at least 1 year of experience
  • Accepts local candidates within 50 miles at the local rate
  • Former employees of Elliot Health System or any associated facility are not eligible for consideration, regardless of time since separation
  • Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date
  • All time off/scheduling requests must be included at the time of consideration
  • Preferred experience includes sports medicine, oncology, hand injuries/tendinopathy, rheumatoid arthritis, iontophoresis, and phonophoresis
  • Preferred familiarity with identifying environmental barriers and recognizing signs of abuse
