License: Current Physical Therapist state license Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or ability to obtain within six months of hire Must-Have: Master's degree from an accredited physical therapy program Description: A Physical Therapist plans and executes rehabilitation programs to help patients return to a higher level of physical function after an accident or surgery. They help manage or lessen pain experienced due to degenerative conditions or terminal diseases. Physical Therapists assist patients through a combination of physical activity, reflexology, massage, and muscular and skeletal manipulation. They collaborate with speech therapists and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for patients. The position involves 90% outpatient and 10% inpatient work. Key Responsibilities: Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms. Review medical history and referrals from providers. Diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to patients and observing their movements. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs. Coach patients and teach them therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their conditions. Utilize hands-on therapy such as massage to ease pain and promote healing. Maintain detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress. Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, including family members and providers. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Professional Communication: Maintain confidentiality regarding patient, family, and staff matters. Interact with patients and families from diverse developmental and sociocultural backgrounds. Provide information to patients and families to alleviate anxiety and show sensitivity and care. Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to the healthcare team. Use appropriate communication methods including telephone and other devices. Raise security concerns regarding medical and healthcare workers with supervisors. Teamwork: Accept assignments based on priority and unit needs. Collaborate with care providers to complete tasks and provide clinical assistance. Report on patient conditions to relevant personnel, including physicians and nurses.
