Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist- Provide hands-on occupational therapy to patients within the rehab setting
- Utilize knowledge of relevant medical conditions in treatment plans
- Conduct EMR documentation and maintain compliance standards
- Engage in team conferences and interdisciplinary communication
- Deliver family training and recommend durable medical equipment
- Implement safe patient handling techniques and manage protocols to prevent complications
- Train in the use of wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment
- Utilize critical thinking for interdisciplinary collaboration
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist- Current licensure to practice in NC
- Experience in an inpatient rehab hospital preferred
- Proficiency in safe patient handling techniques
- Familiarity with protocols for preventing complications
- Good time management and communication skills
