Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Inpatient Rehab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8 Hours per Shift: 08:00 - 17:00 Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: TX license (pending accepted) Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Travel experience not required; locals not accepted; 50-mile travel radius applies Description: We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist for an inpatient/acute care setting. The position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role. The therapist will provide therapy services in a 450-bed facility that operates with an average census of approximately 360 patients. The facility consists of 7 floors where therapy services are provided. The candidate will work in a trauma level 3 environment and will see a variety of diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological, oncology, post-operative cases, and medical-surgical patients. The daily caseload consists of 8-10 Physical Therapists and 6-8 Physical Therapist Assistants. Collaboration with occupational therapy and speech therapy teams, as well as case management, is essential. A successful candidate should possess skills in acute care practices and patient handling techniques. Knowledge of adaptive devices, gait training, and patient education is also required. This role may include training in specialized equipment and rehabilitation techniques to support patient recovery. The candidate must have strong time management skills and be able to monitor and assess vital signs effectively. The transition to independent practice and will include daily patient interactions and assessments.
