Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Flexible Hours per Shift: TBD Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Must hold an active license as a Physical Therapist Certifications: Continuing Education courses preferred Description: Great opportunity for a Physical Therapist. This position implements patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The physical therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs. They will utilize Electronic Medical Records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries. Monitoring patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up is essential. Supervision of PT Assistants and Aides regarding patient care is required. Effective communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals is crucial to ensure quality patient care. Accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, and authorizations must be maintained. The physical therapist must ensure that patients are comfortable and address their questions as necessary. Collaboration with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up is important. Computer skills necessary to complete job requirements include typing and proficiency in EMR. Independent decision-making regarding patient care is expected. Participation in business marketing and referral processes may be required. Adherence to HIPAA policies and procedures is mandatory. Familiarity with billing policies and procedures for various payers is important. Proficiency in DX and ICD-10 coding for billing services is required. The role requires physical mobility, including a combination of sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour workdays. The ability to lift 50 pounds is necessary, including assisting patients with mobility. Supervisory responsibility includes guiding PT Assistants and Aides. The physical demands of the position include walking, sitting, standing, bending, and moving continually throughout working hours. This position involves lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds and supporting residents during transfer. The employee must be constantly alert for patient safety. No travel is expected for this position.
