Daily patient treatment varies depending on the assigned area. Outpatient settings may handle up to 9 patients per day. Inpatient settings may treat up to 13 patients per day. There might be a need to float to other areas as required. Weekend requirements may vary and will be specified during the requisition process. Holidays are not mandatory. Scrubs consist of a maroon polo shirt, dark-colored pants, and closed-toed shoes. A lab coat is optional. The facility provides a 24/7 pharmacy. Shifts may vary, with potential schedules including alternating week patterns. Common diagnoses encountered include orthopedic, post-surgical, neurological, trauma, cardiac, and medical-surgical cases. Experience with stroke, traumatic brain injury, and swallowing difficulties is essential for candidates in speech therapy. Candidates with travel experience and trauma experience are preferred. Screening will be based on requisition specifications. The hospital has a cancellation policy allowing shifts to be canceled during assignments.
