Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist Specialty: Physical Therapist Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift; M - F Hours per Shift: 8am to 5pm Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience License: Current Physical Therapy license, or eligible for registration Certifications: Current BLS course completion Must-Have: Ability to organize and monitor the work of others. Description: Works under limited supervision while administering various standard physical therapy treatments for disabilities, injuries, and diseases to relieve pain, restore motor function, and maintain optimal performance. Maintains compliance with hospital and departmental policies including attendance, vacation, and confidentiality. Completes evaluations on each patient within 24 hours of the physician order. Documents patient assessment and ongoing care concisely according to policy and standards. Ensures coordination of health care team services and community resources. Communicates changes in patient condition and/or orders to other team members. Supervises administration of treatments to patients by assistants and aides. Attends case conference monthly or as scheduled. Participates in Performance Improvement Plan activities as requested. Encourages team members to promote patient and family independence. Plans and coordinates referrals to other health care team members based on physician orders and patient needs. Relates effectively with patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff in a courteous, professional manner. Utilizes good oral and written communication skills sufficient to meet the demands of the job. Maintains physical therapy skills inventory list annually. Willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.
