Key Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist
  • Perform physical therapy evaluation and treatment of patients based on physician orders/referrals
  • Complete a comprehensive evaluation using appropriate tools and procedures
  • Review patient records for current diagnosis, past medical history, and precautions
  • Establish measurable goals and develop treatment plans
  • Regularly reassess treatment plan effectiveness and patient progress
  • Communicate patients' needs and progress to treatment team and family
  • Consult with medical providers regarding patient evaluation, treatment, and discharge
  • Recommend and assist with securing adaptive equipment
  • Maintain and submit documentation in required formats and timelines
  • Adhere to professional practice standards and relevant regulations
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides
  • Attend and participate in staff development programs and continuing education

Requirements of the Physical Therapist
  • Valid AL PT license (Compact license accepted)
  • Proficiency in Oasis and HCHB
  • Experience in physical therapy practice
