Key Responsibilities
Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician direction
Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
Design functional treatment programs focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay and facilitating effective return to community activities
Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements; actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional activities
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of Maryland
Ability to conduct 60-minute evaluations and 45-minute treatment sessions in an outpatient setting
Proficiency in clinical reasoning, treatment planning, and functional goal writing
Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal documentation and compliance standards
Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives
